Marseille are reportedly set to activate a clause which will see them sign loan man Clinton N’jie on a permanent deal for £5.98million.
The 23-year-old Cameroon international has scored four goals and one assist in 19 French league games having moved to the Stade Velodrome from Premier League Tottenham last July.
N’Jie, who missed over a month of the season having been in Cameroon’s African Cup of Nations’ winning squad, struggled to adapt to life in England after joining Spurs from Lyon in 2015.
Therefore, a return to Ligue 1 on a permanent basis appears to be in the offing at the end of the season, with Marseille coach Rudi Garcia recently revealing N’Jie’s importance to his team.
He said: “He’s very useful. We’re using his speed, he holds the ball a little higher to bring out the midfield. He is more than interesting.”
